PROMOTUSCIA PRESENTS NEW ITINERARIES TO DISCOVER THE TUSCIA

Eighth edition of Orticolario – the autumn exhibition of flowers, rare, unusual and collector’s plants, tools and furnishings held at Villa Erba (Cernobbio), on Lake Como, from 29 September to 1 October, came to a successful close with over 23,000 visitors.

The Awakening”, the title of this edition, born from the sixth sense that every person has, which lives and expands beyond the perception of physical phenomena, and through which one feels the vital force of nature that surrounds, inspires and involves, seduces and gives pleasure.
Representing the Tuscia with its own itineraries, PromoTuscia took part in the event with its own stand, where it presented the latest project on the Tuscia as a land of origins, continuing what was begun last year with “La Tuscia è un Giardino“. This year the project focused on the theme “Terme e Giardini in Tuscia” (“Spas and Gardens in Tuscia”). A way to discover and rediscover jewels unique in the world such as Villa Lante in Bagnaia, Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, the Sacro Bosco in Bomarzo and Castello Ruspoli in Vignanello. In keeping with these extraordinary landscapes, a multitude of small private gardens dot the province of Viterbo: artists’ gardens, historic gardens, amateur gardens and exceptional nurseries. In Viterbo, the presence of splendid thermal spa centres with attached hotels is a further reason to imagine a trip to the Tuscia. The brochure created for the occasion was distributed to around three thousand people, including at the stands of the Centro Botanico Moutan in Vitorchiano and the company Ethimo, which were also there representing the Tuscia at this event.

More than a third of the visitors contacted over the three days said they knew the Tuscia, if only for its major attractions.

The suggested itineraries are a kind of Ariadne’s thread to follow, like the first, entitled “From the Etruscans to the Contemporary”, where one breathes in all the art of our origins; from the paintings of the Etruscan Tombs of Tarquinia, via the Giardino dei Tarocchi by Niki De Saint Phalle in Capalbio and the Ferriera by Giuppi Pietromarchi in Capalbio, to the Sacro Bosco in Bomarzo.

The second itinerary best captures the harmony of the Renaissance with “Palaces and Gardens in Tuscia”, from Villa Lante in Bagnaia, to Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, Castello Ruspoli in Vignanello, Palazzo del Principe del Drago in Bolsena and Villa Lina in Ronciglione.

The third itinerary is a tribute to the food-and-wine excellence of “Civita di Bagnoregio and Bolsena”, with a visit to the elegant botanical gardens of the Calanchi. Finally, the last itinerary proposed features “Spas and Botanical Garden” as its protagonists, where the pairing of spas and gardens was particularly appreciated by Orticolario’s visitors.
