THE DOCTOR AND THE WITCH DOCTOR…

Sunday 12 February, 10:30 am.

The last of the appointments for World Italian Cinema Day stars the village of San Martino al Cimino, with its evocative views and its beautiful, majestic Cistercian abbey. It was the great Mario Monicelli who chose the village for “Il Medico e lo Stregone”, a cult 1950s film starring three giants of Italian cinema: Alberto Sordi, Vittorio De Sica and Marcello Mastroianni — the latter also in another film shot in San Martino, Ettore Scola’s “Il Mondo Nuovo”. Let’s walk through the village together and tell the stories of these masterpieces.

Free guided tour. Meeting point: Piazza Cardinal Piccolomini. Info and bookings: 0761226427 – 3493619681 · info@visit.viterbo.it. Booking required by 6:00 pm the day before.
