Art, roses and peonies in the heart of Italy

The tour’s protagonists are the two most aristocratic and sensual flowers, to be admired and explored in even greater depth. We will share the passion of the Fineschi family and of Helga Brichet for roses, and the dedication of Carlo Confidati to his peonies. The trip also includes the Aboca garden, a modern evolution of the Giardino dei Semplici, as well as the charming vegetable-and-flower garden of Signora Fè d’Ostiani, a successful blend of vegetables, citrus fruits, aromatic plants and blooms. In these places, care, intelligence and a love of discovery have merged and blended together. And if a garden is often like a great painting in which colours and shapes are juxtaposed, this itinerary will also be an opportunity to contemplate the sublime art of Piero della Francesca and his fascinating scenes from the Legend of the True Cross in the Basilica of San Francesco in Arezzo.

The Dutch Wave and the Water Gardens of Overijssel

A journey to discover the Dutch Wave, the contemporary Dutch style of garden-making based on the use of colonies of perennial herbaceous plants and grasses. A different and unforgettable journey, which will lead us to appreciate another way of creating a naturalistic garden, using what climatic and geomorphological conditions allow, combined with the deep botanical knowledge of the contemporary Dutch plantsmen whose gardens we will visit. And then the history of the province of Overrijssel, also known as “the garden of the Netherlands”. Forests, hills, meadows, farmland, cows, foxes, birds, geese and finally, the wonderful water gardens.
