Guided tour of the necropolis + archaeological museum

Unlike Greek and Roman women, Etruscan women enjoyed greater freedom and standing, from the possibility of taking part in banquets alongside their husbands to the structure of their naming formula, which included not only the family name but also the given name.

On the occasion of the upcoming International Women’s Day, we will explore these and other aspects of women’s lives in the Etruscan world, through funerary rites and everyday objects, starting at the necropolis of Madonna dell’Olivo and continuing at the National Archaeological Museum.
