For 2018 as well, we are happy to offer a study trip to England from 1 to 15 July, departing from Rome. We decided without hesitation to reconfirm the 2017 campus, given the enthusiasm and success it achieved among the students who took part.

Junior Summer Camp 2018 at Queen Ethelburga’s College in York (Yorkshire)

(for boys/girls aged 11 to 17)

York is an extraordinary city located in the north of England. Founded by the Romans and later conquered by the Vikings, in the industrial era it did not base its economy on foundries or textile businesses but rather on chocolate. Even from this very brief introduction, one can sense how long and varied its history is. Fascinating, lively, sunny and at the same time mysterious, York is surrounded by wonderful medieval walls, boasts the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe and has the largest railway museum in the world.

The QUEEN ETHELBURGA’S is considered one of the most sought-after and exclusive English colleges, distinguished by the extremely high standard of its facilities, described as “unique in the whole of Europe”. The philosophy of this boarding school is that, to achieve excellent academic results, students must be able to live and spend their time in an equally excellent environment – a calm, well-organised environment offering every comfort, in which to build a rewarding school career. The classic red-brick Georgian buildings, surrounded by beautiful grounds, house state-of-the-art classrooms equipped with the most modern teaching facilities, computer rooms, an auditorium, and common rooms for daytime and evening recreational activities. As proof of the great importance given to sport in students’ education, there are outdoor football, tennis and cricket pitches, a multi-purpose indoor gym and a semi-Olympic swimming pool. The entire complex of facilities is fenced and closely guarded by Security staff and monitored by closed-circuit cameras.
